Terms of Use

Your account

You sign in with Apple. Keep your device secure; you are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account.

Your content

You keep ownership of the documents you upload. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide Posie to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. Only upload material you have the right to use, such as your own notes or course material provided to you for study.

Sharing courses

If you share a course, the people you share it with can study its material. Only share material you are allowed to share with them. You can stop sharing or remove members at any time.

AI-generated material

Posie uses AI to produce topics, summaries and questions from your documents. We check generated material against your sources, but it can still contain mistakes. Use it as a study aid, not as an authoritative source, and check anything important against your course material.

Fair use and AI allowance

Each account has an AI allowance, measured in Posie Tokens, that covers processing your documents and grading written answers. Before a document is processed, Posie shows you what it will cost and waits for you to confirm. You are charged for what processing actually uses, and never more than the cost shown to you.

When your allowance runs out, new uploads and written-answer grading pause until your plan renews or you buy more. A plan includes an allowance for each billing period, and extra tokens you buy stay on your account. Material you have already built keeps working.

Purchases are billed by Apple to your Apple ID, and Apple handles refunds.

Acceptable use

• Do not upload unlawful content or content that infringes others' rights.
• Do not try to access other users' data, disrupt the service, or reverse-engineer it.
• Do not use automated means to overload or abuse the service.

We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

Zero tolerance for abuse

Objectionable content and abusive behaviour are not allowed on Posie. This covers harassment, hateful or sexual content, and anything meant to distress or humiliate others. If someone behaves badly, you can block them, and you can report them or their group from the app. We review reports within 24 hours, and accounts or content that break these rules can be removed.

Availability

We aim to keep Posie available and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is" without guarantees of uninterrupted availability. We may change or discontinue features.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for outcomes such as exam results. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law of England and Wales, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; we will post changes here and tell you in the app about significant ones. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
